The 7 Scottish Cities

2021 is a big year for promoting Hydrogen and Fuel Cells to a global audience, in particular surrounding and in the lead up to the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow

This project is funded by Scottish Power, ITM Power and Arcola Energy, aiming to engage with over 7,000 young people across Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth and Stirling. Rolling deliveries are scheduled from the 23rd of August to the 29th of October, culminating in each city’s final event and inter-city Grand Finals in Glasgow the week prior to/first week of COP26.

STEM Workshop Staff Required

We are delighted to offer Students, Freelancers and Professionals the opportunity to facilitate the 7-Cities Hydrogen Challenge 2021!

What is the Hydrogen Challenge?
Workshops in which participants design and build the post energy efficient Hydrogen powered vehicle possible from LEGO components and miniature (real) hydrogen fuel cells.
Hydrogen Challenge workshops are 1.5-2 hr long consisting of –
— 20 min presentation
— 1-1.5 hr participant-lead “designing, building, racing, repeating”
— 10 min plenary

What will I be doing?
Delivering Hydrogen Challenge workshops in your city.
Your responsibilities will include –

When is it?
Training – Week prior to delivery (2 days – flexible).
Delivery –
Highlands 23rd August to 3rd September
Aberdeen 30th August to 10th September
Dundee 6th to 17th September
Perth 13th to 24th September
Stirling 20th September to 1st October
Edinburgh 27th September to 8th October
Glasgow 18th to 29th October
Grand Final – In Glasgow (Date TBC)

Training Information
Comprehensive training in Workshop Delivery, Science Communication, Workshop Troubleshooting and Safeguarding Practices, will be delivered in the week prior to delivery (you need to attend two sessions) as well as receiving script-cards for presenters and visual walk-through instructions for assisting in LEGO designs.
